VOA慢速英語中科技語言學的應用特點

【摘要】應用語言學中的隱喻理論不僅存在於文學及日常語言中，隨著科技的發展，隱喻也被廣泛的應用於科技英語文本中。VOA慢速科技英語是高職院校學生了解西方科技的一個重要途徑，了解語言學在科技新聞中的應用特點，對於理工科專業學生查找科技文獻時能夠助一臂之力。

科技英語作為科技英語語言的一個分支必然在其詞彙和表達方麵涉及隱喻理論。一方麵，隨著現代科學技術的飛速發展，大量新詞根據隱喻機製被創造出來，人類根據隱喻用其較為熟悉領域的經驗來說明和解讀較為陌生領域。另一方麵，隱喻促使科技術語的詞義和用法得以擴充和拓展。
一、外形相似

白宮實際就是美國政府，由其建築的顏色而其名。
二、位置相似

“競爭是方向”，“權利是方向”以及“疾病是方向”，人們很容易理解高為優秀，高為競爭激烈。
三、構造相似

投資一個新的領域類似建立一個新的帝國，一係列的措施類似一個完整的包裹，這些人們熟悉的語言恰好滿足了新聞的特點，大眾性。
