一、why not的口語用法
why not在口語中主要有以下用法：
1.表示同意或讚成，意為：好的；可以呀；為什麼不可以呢。如：
——May I go with you？ 我可以和你一起去嗎？
——Why not？ 可以呀。
——Let’s go out for dinner tonight. 今晚我們出去吃吧。
——Yes， why not？ 那好啊。
——I wonder if I could make a living by writing. 我不知靠寫作能否維持生計。
——Why not？ 可以呀。
2.表示勸誘、建議或命令，意為：……怎麼樣；為什麼不……呢。如：
Why not ask someone else？問問別人怎麼樣？
Why not go there at once？為什麼不馬上去呢？
——My girlfriend is in a bad mood. 我的女朋友心情不好。
——Why not give her some flowers？為什麼不送她一些花呢？
3.用來詢問原因（有時表示一種不可理解的心情），意為：為什麼；為什麼不……呢。如：
——He isn’t going to see her off at the station. 他不準備去車站送她。
——Why not？ 為什麼？
——You should not smoke. 你不該抽煙。
——Why not？為什麼？
——Don’t touch it. 別碰它。
——Why not？為什麼？
——It’s hot！You’ll burn yourself. 那是燙的，你會燙著的。
4.表示堅持自己的觀點、態度或做法，意為：為什麼不呢。如：

二、why not後接動詞的形式
why not後接動詞原形，不能接現在分詞或不定式。如：
1. 何不靜觀其結果呢？
