丁國瑜 1931.09.19～
地質學家。河北高陽人。1952年北京大學地質係畢業。1958年獲蘇聯莫斯科地質勘探學院副博士學位。國家地震局研究員。1985年當選為第三世界科學院院士。進行過對中亞、海南島、華北等地新構造及多個大地震的現場考察與深入研究；提出了地殼現代破裂網絡與我國地震活動關係的模型；首先編製了中國活斷層的滑動速率圖及現代板內運動圖；在活動構造、斷錯水係、古地震、活斷層的活動習性、活斷層分段的研究，以及這些研究成果在重大工程地震危險性評價中的應用等方麵做出了貢獻，是我國這些研究領域的主要學術帶頭人。1980年當選為中國科學院院士（學部委員）。
Geologist. Born in Gaoyang， Hebei Province. Graduated from the Department of Geology， Peking University in 1952. Received candidate Ph.D. from Moscow Institute of Geological Prospecitng. Research professor and deputy director， State Seismological Bureau， academician， Third World Academy of Sciences， member， International Advisory Committee on Earthquake Risk of UNESCO， and chairman， Project 206 of “ Comparison of Active Faults ” under the International Geological Comparison Program.
Ding has made field study and neotectonic research on many great earthquakes in Central Asia， Hainan island and North China， developed the model of relations between network of recent crustal rupture and seismicities in China， and is the first to compile the “ Map of Faulting Slip Rate in China ” and “ Map of Recent Intraplate Movement ”. He has greatly contributed to the research on neotectonics， active tectonics， paleoseismology， active fault and evaluation of seismic hazards in major constructions.
He was elected Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1980.

地質學家。吉林長春人。1942年畢業於西南聯合大學地質地理氣象係。1948年獲英國愛丁堡大學博士學位。後長期從事地質教育工作，1978年調至國家地震局，曾任副局長兼地質研究所所長、名譽所長、研究員。1956年完成山西五台山區域地質調查。後在湖北、河南等省進行了大量的1：20萬區域地質調查的基礎上，總結中國區域地質構造特征。關於中國前寒武紀地質構造的研究，對理解地殼早期演化、對找礦和和地震多震層的研究具有一定意義。提倡構造解析方法和解析構造學。強調中立不吻合密度不均在構造過程中的重要性。對中國大陸內部地震構造與地震活動性特別是裂陷作用與地震的關係等方麵均有一定的見解和認識。80年代開始從事岩石圈動力學的研究和全球地學斷麵的編製，取得一些成果。1980年當選為中國科學院院士（學部委員）。
