75.君子以常德行,習教事。—— 出自《坎·象》
今譯:品行端正的人應該保持自己的德性並不斷地教育周邊的人。
衍言:從個人修身養性到影響提升周邊人的品性,這是中國傳統的道德教育目標。
《周易》小詞典:《坎》卦又稱習坎。習的本義是鳥反複飛翔,故《坎》象辭觀象而突出經常的意識,提出“常德行,習教事”。
The superior man maintains constantly the virtue of his heart and the integrity of his conduct, and practices the business of instruction.——- from The Great Symbolism, Kan
Modern interpretation: A virtuous man should keep up his character. At the same time he is responsible for enlightening other people around.
Moral: It is the objective of moral education in Chinese tradition to cultivate one’s moral character and develop one’s temperament on the one hand and try the utmost to influence the improvement of other’s moral conduct around on the other hand.
Glossary: The Hexagram Kan is also named Xi Kan. Xi originally denotes the repeated flying of birds. The symbolism of the Hexagram, therefore, gives the idea of frequency, hence the requirement of “maintaining constantly the virtue of the heart and the integrity of the conduct, and practicing the business of instruction”.
