116.《節》，亨。苦節，不可貞。——出自《節·卦辭》
今譯：適當地約束個人過於外露的情感，當然是有好處的。但是拚命地壓抑情感，就會造成精神失常。
衍言：靠壓不是良策，應如大禹治水，疏導為好。
《周易》小詞典：《節》，卦名。節，指製度，也有節止的意思。節卦提出了一個製度建設以適中為標準、不傷財害民為目標的觀點
Jie intimates that under its conditions there will be progress and attainment. But if the regulations which it describes be severe and difficult, they cannot be permanent.——- from Gua Ci, Jie
Modern interpretation: A moderate self-restraint of one’s over-displayed emotion is naturally all right. But an excessive depression will make him mentally deranged.
Moral: Suppression is not wise at all. We should be patient and persuasive as Yu the Great brought the waters under control.
