農夫的兒子們總是吵鬧不休。農夫絞盡腦汁也沒辦法讓他們停止爭吵。後來，農夫決定用事實來教育他們。他先是叫孩子們拿幾捆樹條來，等他們拿來之後，農夫分別給了他們一捆，並吩咐他們把手中的樹條折斷。兒子們一個個都使出了渾身解數，可是誰也無法把樹條折斷。這時，農夫將捆著樹條的繩子拆掉，然後抽出其中一根交給他們。樹條就被輕而易舉地折斷了。於是，農夫語重心長地對兒子們說： “你們也和這捆樹條一樣，隻要你們和睦相處，團結一致，你們就是無法戰勝的；但是如果你們不和，你們每一個人就會像這些被抽出的樹條一樣，任何人都能輕易地被打敗。 ”
團結就是力量。
