黃鼠狼看見蝙蝠跌在地上，就趕快上前抓住他。這時，已經奄奄一息的蝙蝠不斷地哀求黃鼠狼饒命。黃鼠狼回答說： “不可饒恕！因為我是一切鳥類的天敵。 ”可是蝙蝠說，他是鼠類，不是鳥類。聽完蝙蝠的話後，黃鼠狼就把他放了。不久之後，蝙蝠又跌在地上，落入了另外一隻黃鼠狼的 “魔爪 ”。蝙蝠再次懇求黃鼠狼放過他。這隻黃鼠狼聲稱痛恨一切鼠類，蝙蝠就說自己不是鼠類，而是鳥類。這隻黃鼠狼又放了他。就這樣，蝙蝠兩次更名換姓，輕易地使自己擺脫了困境。
