“海上生明月”這句話指的是“海月”老師名字的來源，如果把字麵順序調換一下——“上海生明月”就更恰如其分地說明這輪明月的來源地了。
在我們看來，“海上生明月”這句詩很貼切地說明了海月心中關於她的靈魂和人的關係——就像平靜的月亮，在夜晚溫和地照亮海上與地麵的眾生。海月老師平時是一位非常平易近人的心理谘詢師，很多個案也詫異於海月老師的成熟與年紀，是因為他們不了解，這個靈魂的發願從多世前就開始了，心智之成熟和柔軟和今生的年紀沒有絕對的關係。
海月自己說，她的每個夢境，都是一個故事，來自前世與未來的故事。她的夢從不曾圍繞三次元，永遠與現實周圍的人無關。
這個經曆很有意思。於是，她從學生時代開始就把自己的夢境寫在筆記本後頁，被同學借筆記時發現並傳閱不絕，後來她幹脆把這些夢境日記投遞給出版社，以言情小說或奇幻小說的性質出版。
海月記得有一個夢，極其強烈地敲醒了她沉睡的使命。
她夢見自己在一個鋪滿屍骨的山嶺上，不遠處還有枯樹，上麵掛著無頭或幹枯發臭的屍體。但是她感覺到這些屍體的靈魂並沒有離開，正在淒涼或哀怨地等待著幫助。究竟他們需要什麼幫助？一時也說不明白。
接著就聽見遠處有一些佛頌的音樂飄過山頭，她隨著聲音尋找，發現有一座炊煙嫋嫋的寺廟。她走過去發現有很多人正在埋葬屍體，並為已逝之人在唱誦和祈禱。這個時候她才明白，自己也需要安撫這些靈魂並把他們送到更高處——這是她的使命。
“身許蘭若門，心係七祖禪。發願寫盡三界神明，六道生靈。”
這就是當時海月從夢境的經曆中有感而發寫下的發願。
年少的時候，海月跟隨父母一起去旅遊，在國外的小街道上發現盧恩符文的占卜，站在一旁記下來，回到家中自己用小紙條做出第一套屬於自己的盧恩符文。後來又自學塔羅，可是發現身邊沒有同學了解此類牌卡，有時候感覺沒有人的交流和分享，非常落寞。
從此她便獨自搜羅不同的塔羅牌卡，去聯係和感受它們不同的牌靈與功能。當自己較為熟練的時候就開始為同學解答困惑。
“能幫到同學做最好的選擇時，心裏快樂無與倫比！”海月能感覺到很多事情並非理性和邏輯能夠解決問題，有時候屬靈的工具是更真誠的幫手。
學生生涯裏，她做了兩件讓同齡人佩服的事，一是出版了多部小說，二是受到了多位身心靈導師的衣缽傳承。
由於海月本身從事的工作就擁有很龐大的人脈資源，也經常會入駐各大企業和院校培訓講課。所以從她跟隨第一任觀靈術老師開始，就經常給大家做個案。最厲害的時候一天要接八個個案。
