擊鼓其鏜，踴躍用兵。土國城漕，我獨南行。
從孫子仲，平陳與宋。不我以歸，憂心有忡。
爰居爰處，爰喪其馬。於以求之，於林之下。
死生契闊，與子成說。執子之手，與子偕老。
於嗟闊兮，不我活兮。於嗟洵兮，不我信兮。

徐克早年所拍攝的《梁祝》，早已經在時間的流逝中，變得日漸模糊，但徐克的《梁祝》適時地曾經撩撥起當下人們，日漸冷酷冰涼的心。
簡單的故事情節，古老的早已熟知的結局，但看過之後，依然還是能夠感動得一塌糊塗，那深入人心的愛和被愛，豈是電影本身所能表述詳盡的？
當梁山伯最終無法與祝英台見麵，咯血而死之後，祝英台身著嫁衣，要去嫁一個她從未想過要愛的人，悲劇在此時，無以言複。
一陣大風刮過，祝英台奔向梁山伯的墳塚，她的大紅嫁衣隨風飄走，露出裏麵的素衣，看來，她是早已想清楚，今生非梁山伯不嫁的，今日出嫁，不過是為了父母顏麵做出的樣子，其實，她早已是形同枯槁，隻等著去和她的山伯相會的。
跪在梁山伯的墳前，祝英台反倒安靜了下來，她說道：“無言到麵前，與君分杯水，清中有濃意，流出心底醉。不論冤或緣，莫說蝴蝶夢，還你此生此世今世前世，雙雙飛過萬世千生去。”
墳塚裂開大口，她決絕跳入，隨後，大風後的晴朗日，兩隻蝴蝶翩翩飛入天空。這就是“死生契闊，與子成說”的絕好範本。
當自以為滿手在握的幸福，再次隕滅飄遠，看著它們淡化成遙遠處的一抹青煙，攜殘存的往日的一點溫度，漸漸消散，是多麼殘忍的事情。
在書院裏的快樂時光，轉瞬即逝，本想著會一生一世在一起，可是卻最終成為了奢望。梁祝的死別，所帶來的悲傷，與《詩經》中這首《擊鼓》裏，主人公的生離，是一樣的。我們幾乎可以認定，“執子之手，與子偕老”是《詩經》裏可以和梁祝中，“還你此生此世今世前世，雙雙飛過萬世千生去”相媲美的詩句。
一個是庶民的誓言，一個是才子佳人的約定，同樣地美麗，同樣地憂傷。《擊鼓》甚至比梁祝更為悲哀，梁祝化蝶，最後不管怎樣，好歹也算是在一起了，可是《擊鼓》中的這名男子，卻隻能眼睜睜地看著家鄉所在的方向，無可奈何。
“我獨南行”，在前行的路上，罕見的疼痛占據了男子的心房。隨著大部隊開拔，忍不住回頭去望越來越遠的家鄉。可越是回望，便越絕望。
男子的夥伴就在身旁，但他們卻不能給彼此慰藉。
因為“擊鼓其鏜，踴躍用兵”“從孫子仲，平陳與宋”。關於這首詩歌的背景，有幾種不同的說法，《毛詩序》認為：魯隱公四年（公元前719年）夏，衛聯合陳、宋、蔡共同伐鄭。許政伯認為：是指同年秋，衛國再度伐鄭，搶了鄭國的莊稼。這兩次戰爭間有兵士在陳，宋戍守（《詩探》）。姚際恒則認為：是說魯宣公十二年，宋伐陳，衛穆公為救陳而被晉所伐一事（《躊經通論》）。
