Kingdom of Tonga is a Pacific island， with the International Date Line across it. It is the world’s first country to start a new day.
湯加王國是太平洋島國，國際日期變更線從該國穿過，它是世界上最早開始新的一天的國家。
The Kingdom on the Holy Island 神島上的王國
Kingdom of Tonga is referred to “Tonga”， Tonga’s name came from the name of the main island in the country. At that time， King of Tonga called the main island “Tongatapu”. Through evolution and development， it became “Tonga”. In the local dialect， “Tonga” means “Holy Land” or “Island of God”.
Tonga Royal Palace was founded in 1867 by George Tupou I. The whole palace face the sea， with red roof and white walls， the Red Cross flag of the Kingdom of Tonga flying over the palace， both dignified and quiet.
In 1875， monarchy began. Since 1900， it became a British protectorate. On June 4， 1970， it independed and became one of 188 United Nations member states.
Tupouto was the last Crown Prince， in 2008， he renounced the rights of all people of Tonga， gave up the power to Congress， and abandoned the monarchy. It was the end of 1000 years of monarchy， and The Kingdom of Tonga came towards democracy.
The capital of the Kingdom of Tonga is Nuku’alofa. To the tourists arriving here， visiting the Victorian-style palace is essential activities in Tonga.
湯加王國簡稱“湯加”，源於國內主島的名稱。當時的湯加國王稱主島為“湯加塔布”，這個稱呼經過演變和發展，現在成為“湯加”。在當地的土語中，“湯加”為“聖地”或“神島”之意。
湯加王國的王宮建立於1867年，由喬治·圖普一世修建。整座王宮麵海而立，紅頂白牆，紅十字徽的湯加王國國旗飄揚在王宮上空，顯得既端莊又恬靜。
1875年湯加開始實行君主立憲製，1900年開始成為英國的保護地，1970年6月4日獨立，為聯合國第188個成員國。
圖普托阿是最後一位王儲，2008年，他向全體湯加人宣布放棄權利，將權力交給國會，放棄君主製，湯加王國從此結束1，000多年的君主統治，走向民主。
湯加王國的首都是努庫阿洛法，到達這裏的遊客，參觀維多利亞式的湯加王宮是必不可少的活動項目。
