The couple worked really hard on that immense green plain. A small ivory-colored building was finally erected, in which two sets of radio-telescopes are pointing to the outer space, and the high-speed image processing system could finish a coordinate map of the constellations in just a dozen seconds. In the end when this observatory got connected successfully with the headquarters, they rushed out excitedly. They ran and rolled about, chased each other on the grassland, and shouted towards the mountains far away, “I love—I love—”
“We were so young then,” says Zhao Yu.
“We were experiencing such hardships then, but those are the most valuable memories of our life,” says Chu Tian-xiong. “Whatever happens, we’ve had those experiences. What could a man really have in all his life？ Is it money？ Or status？ None of them. What we could really have is our own experience. We’ve gone through such wonderful times. We have had those experiences. We shall never regret for what we have experienced！”
Zhao Yu lays her hands gently on her husband’s shoulders and buries her head in his arms, “I’m so sorry. You love children so much and yet I wasn’t able to leave a kid to you. If only I would leave a daughter to you！ When you are looking at our daughter, it’ll be just like you are looking at me...” She weeps again as she utters these words.
At this very moment, Dr. Ker, who is sitting in front of the monitoring TV screen cannot help feeling touched. He is aware that the intense streams of ion particles transmitted by Noke Star have done harm to some human beings on the earth. Zhao Yu has been working on the airship for a long time and has been exposed to the harmful ion currents, which resulted in the worst consequence: infertility, whereas no doctors on the earth could locate the root cause.
“I’m sorry, kid, ” Ker says silently in his heart.
“Look at you, you are talking nonsense again, ”Chu Tian-xiong pats on Zhao Yu’s shoulders as if he were coaxing a child.
“I know we don’t have any kids and so you get away from your sorrow by working hard. There have been many times I wanted...You should have offspring. You should fall in love with a woman who is better than me...Please, I beg you...”
“Stop it,” Chu Tian-xiong covers Zhao Yu’s mouth tenderly.
“No,” Zhao Yu becomes very adamant, “I beg you, please. After I leave, go and marry a good woman so as to make up for what I couldn’t do for you. Tian-xiong, this is my only wish.”
On hearing this, Dr. Ker’s eyes are laden with tears. “Poor earth human,” he gently presses a button on which there is a red cross. A special type of ion is injected into Zhao Yu’s body to cure her infertility—now she will no longer have trouble in conceiving.
“Beep—Beep—” The buzzer is reminding everyone that the flying disk is now getting prepared for taking off.
Only till now does Dr. Ker find that he is being ridiculous: it’s too late for me to help Zhao Yu now！ Why—how come that I, a pure rational and great scientist from Noke Star, have been confused by a common earth human’s sensation？

The bells ring sadly at the UFO base; sorrowful music comes from far away. A pall of heroic sadness is hanging over this area deep in the middle of Taklimakan Desert.
The Aliens walk out of the caverns with heavy steps. They climb up the flying disks and give a last lingering look at the mysterious yellow land beyond the desert.
This is the last moment. Zhao Yu and Chu Tian-xiong come out of the base, hand in hand. When they come to the last flying disk, they hug each other. Zhao Yu puts a strand of her hair into her husband’s hands in the light of some ancient customs.
Dr. Ker comes by and helps Zhao Yu into the flying disk.
Instantly the UFO base is lit by red lights and the ground is shaking and roaring. In a dozen seconds, all flying disks have taken off.
This is the mass evacuation of the Aliens from Noke Star. There will never be any unidentified flying object on the earth in the future.
When the flying disks disappear from his sight, Chu Tian-xiong suddenly realizes that he has been separated away from the one he loves the most in this world. He feels as painful as losing his own life and he runs on the desert with his hands holding high up to the sky, like the statue of “Asking the Heaven”！
Suddenly, as if by means of some sort of telepathy, he hears Zhao Yu’s voice. Her voice comes out from the walkie talkie under his clothes, and she sounds so far away and so sad.
“Tian-xiong, I can see you from the flying disk, and I’m feeling so sorry for you. Cheer up. I’m going to the Noke Star, so the human beings on the earth can be relieved from the threat of wars. We should be happy for this...I wish that you and all people on the earth could be rational and have a better life...”
When Dr. Ker, who is executing his returning mission, hears these words, he cannot help feeling overwhelmed.
“The human beings have already developed such noble senses, which are equal to that of the Noke Star inhabitants. Why do I have to take one of them away？If my fellows get to know that I took this woman away under such a situation, will they say I did it right or wrong？”
Dr. Ker turns on the display of future detector. It shows that in one year, two years, and three years and forever, Chu Tian-xiong is standing there like a stone statue: his arms open and reaching high, and his eyes looking up into the sky, thus becoming a monument in the desert！
The senior scientist heaves a big sigh, and puts his finger on the“return”button.
