The yellow lower-garment stands for great good fortune.——- from The Fifth Line Divided, Kun
Modern interpretation: In an honored post, a man should possess the quality indicated by the yellow lower garment and keep to the golden mean, then he will be greatly fortunate.
Moral: The more favorable circumstances you are in, the more efforts you should make to avoid arrogance and prejudice.
Glossary: The yellow lower garment has two interpretations. Kun refers to the earth whose color is yellow. Qian stands for upper garment and Kun lower garment. On the other hand, yellow is the middle color in the principle of the five elements. The fifth line, divided, in this hexagram symbolizes the honorable post an official occupies. It also symbolizes docility and correctness. Consequently, the yellow lower garment signifies the golden mean and good fortune.
