24.剛健而不陷，其義不困窮。——《需·彖》
今譯:個性剛直而辦事爽快卻能不陷於險境，它的意義就在於不會再在其他方麵受到阻礙而找不到出路。
衍言:遇事必須三思而後行。
《周易》小詞典：《需》，卦名，上卦為坎，為險、為陷，下卦為乾，為剛健、為動。《需》卦表示剛健者見險而不動，能動而不輕動，從而免陷於險。
If one, with firmness and strength, does not allow himself to be involved in the dangerous defile, he will not be strained or reduced to extremity. ——- from The Tuan, Xu
Modern interpretation: A man of upright personality who acts straightforwardly does not get involved in any dangerous defile. This signifies that nothing can stop him from completing anything and show him no way out.
Moral: Look before you leap in dealing with anything.
Glossary: Xu is a hexagram which takes Kan as its upper trigram and Qin its lower trigram. Kan denotes danger and peril, and Qian, strength and movement. So the Hexagram Xu indicates that a strong man, with danger and difficulties in front, stands firm, and not allow himself to be involved in reckless actions so that he will not sink into a predicament.
