23.君子以果行育德。——《蒙·象》
今譯: 君子應堅定地養育個人品德。衍言:《穀梁傳》上說：“德厚者流光，德薄者流卑。”
《周易》小詞典：《蒙》，卦名。下卦為坎，為水，上卦為艮，為山，象征流水被山擋住，含障蔽意思。用筮作比喻，人在認識上受蔽，即蒙昧，而《蒙》卦闡述的就是開發教育之理。

Modern interpretation: The superior man should be steadfast in improving hispersonal morality.
Moral:Gu Liang Commentary says“A man of good character is alwaysglorious and brilliant, while a man of bad character is always mean and low.”
Glossary: The Hexagram Meng is composed of the trigrams of Kan below and Genabove. The lower trigram Kan symbolizes water, and the upper trigram Gen,mountain, which symbolizes a situation where the water is found blocked by themountain and prevented from view. As a metaphor, the divination suggests obscurityor ignorance. And the hexagram signifies the necessity of developing education.
