72.君子以慎言語，節飲食—— 出自《頤·象》
今譯：人要少說話，以避免口角；少吃一點，大家就都能吃到。
衍言：說話慎重一點，切忌毋吃獨食，人際自然融洽。
《周易》小詞典：《頤》，就是下巴。下巴跟說與吃相關，於是象辭選“慎言語，節飲食”句。
The superior man enjoys watchfulness over our words, and the temperateregulation of our eating and drinking.——- from The Great Symbolism, Yi
Modern interpretation: Speak less to avoid quarrels; and eat less to share with others.
Moral: Speak carefully and never eat without sharing with others. This will naturally result in a harmonious relationship.
Glossary: Yi is the symbol of the lower jaw and is associated with eating, hence the statement in the Great Symbolism: watch over our words and regulate our eating and drinking.
