一個農夫看到一隻被困在陷阱中的老鷹，非常同情他的遭遇，就大發善心把他放了。這隻老鷹非常懂得 “滴水之恩，當湧泉相報 ”的道理。當他看到農夫坐在一堵危牆下時，就趕快向農夫飛去，把農夫的包袱抓走了。有點生氣的農夫馬上起身去追趕老鷹。老鷹看到農夫已經離那段牆很遠了，就把包袱還給了他。當農夫拿著包袱返回到原來的地方時，發現那段牆已經倒塌了。這時，他才理解老鷹報恩的行為，心中非常驚奇，更多的則是感激。
