一隻小羊掉了隊，沒能及時返回牧場，被一隻大灰狼追趕。小羊轉過身來對狼說： “親愛的狼先生，我知道自己逃不出你的手心了。但是，在我死之前您能為我用木笛吹奏一曲，讓我盡情地跳一支舞嗎？這是我最後的願望了！ ”狼心想反正小羊是跑不掉的，於是就吹奏了起來，小羊隨著節拍跳起了舞。樂曲引起了附近獵狗的注意，紛紛跑過來趕追大灰狼。狼邊逃邊回頭對小羊說： “我這真是自作自受啊！我隻是想吃掉羊，又何必扮成一個音樂家呢？ ”
