4.作補足語
(1)不定式作賓語補足語:動詞不定式可用作複合賓語中的賓語補足語,常跟不定式作賓補的動詞有:hold,advi,allow,call,cau,pel,vince,direable,ence,expect,force,forbid,inspire,instruct,order,permit,persuade,press,remind,request,teach,urge,warn等。
如:We hold the truths to be lf-evident that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among the are life,liberty,and the pursuit of happiness.(US Declaration of Independence)

在feel,have,hear,let,make,notice,obrve,e,watch等動詞後麵,複合賓語中動詞不定式的標記to 通常被省略。動詞help後的不定式to可以省去,也可以保留。如:We try to grab piebsp;of our lives as they speed past us.Photographs freeze tho piebsp;and help us remember how we were.(Gene McSweeney)

(2)不定式作主語補足語:在主動句中作賓語補足語的不定式在被動句中便是主語補足語。如:The young man was sidered to have great promi.(to have是主語補語)不定式在“主語 動詞 that從句”的被動句中作主語補足語。

(3)-ing分詞作賓語補足語:Friendship makes prosperity more shining and lesns adversity by dividing and sharing it.(Cicero)
(4)-ed分詞作賓語補足語:能夠利用-ed詞作賓語補足語的動詞有三類,第一類說明感知的狀態,如e,hear,feel,find,think等。第二類是使動詞,如make,get,have,keep等。第三類包括表達希望、命令等的動詞,如like,want,wish,order等。如:Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.(Jules Renard)
