這一組動詞短語都有“同意”、“讚成”之意，但含義和使用場合有所不同。
agree to的意思是“同意”、“應允”，它專用於對事，不用於對人, 其後接事物名詞, 如decision,opinion,idea，demand,proposal,terms,plan；此外, 它亦可接動詞原形。例：
I quite agree to your proposal.
我非常同意你的建議。
They agreed to the new method.
他們同意采用這個新方法。
His parents agreed to his marrying this girl.
他的父母同意他與該女郎結婚。
值得注意的是，agree之後既可接不定式，也可以接以that引導的從句。例如：John agreed to go there.=John agreed that he would go there.
His father agreed to buy him a luxury car.
他的父親答應買一輛豪華汽車給他。
agree with的意思是“和……意見一致”、“與……相應”或“跟……適合”。它既用於對事，也用於對人，其後接人名或人稱代詞，也可以接表示“意見”的詞和一些抽象的名詞，如a,subject,stitution等。例：
I agree with you (on your views）.
我讚同你的觀點。
I''m so sorry to say his words do not agree with his as.
說來遺憾，他的言行不一致。
Wine does not agree with me.
酒對我不適合（即我不宜喝酒）。
The verb must agree with its subje number and person.
動詞在數和人稱上必須和它的主語一致。
agree with亦可以和that引導的從句用在一個句子中。如：
I agree with them that it is time te for more exges between Hong Kong and mainland scholars.
我同意他們的意見，現在應當為香港及大陸學者安排更多交流。
