用作名詞時，produce很易和另外兩個名詞product，produ混淆不清。
作名詞時，produce的重音落在第一音節，其意為“產物”、“農產品”。它一般指農產品的總稱，是個不可數名詞，不能與不定冠詞連用。例：
All of them are ricultural produce.
所有這些都是我們的農產品。
The field produce is transported by water to the neighb cities，such as Macau and Hong Kong．
農產品通過水路運往鄰近的城市，如澳門和香港。
product的意思是“產物”、“產品”。product是可數名詞，詞義的範圍較廣，可以指任何體力勞動和腦力勞動所產生的東西，但一般多指工業產品。例：

許多國外的商人對這家工廠的產品給予很高的評價。
The prent book is the product of ten years'' labour.

produ可以指生產的行為，也可以指生產的結果。它尤指詩、雕刻、繪畫等文學和藝術的產品；此外，它可以指“產量”。
