盛唐，風景舊曾諳，多少風華絕代的人走過，欣賞過，也吟唱過。長安城是個盛產傳奇的地方，有“西望長安不見家”的李白，也有歌盡“長安水邊多麗人”的杜甫；更有“當軒對樽酒”，靜看“四麵芙蓉開”，人淡如荷的詩佛——王維。
長安元年，大唐降下了兩顆文曲星，一位是“自稱臣是酒中仙”的李白，另一位是“如秋水芙蕖”的王維。當時，人們何曾知道，這兩個人將照亮盛唐的詩壇。
王維出生在河東蒲州的一個小縣城裏麵。王姓本是太原望族，東晉名家。然而，顯赫的王氏早在曆代傳承之間，隨著九品中正製的廢除而衰落，太原王氏早已不複魏晉門閥時代的榮耀，一如“舊時王謝堂前燕，飛入尋常百姓家”。以科舉選官為重的唐朝，“王”這個姓氏並沒有給王維帶來多少蔭庇之利。
關於王維父親的生平事跡在《舊唐書》中有所記載，其父王處廉曾做過汾州司馬，其他就沒有記載了，而在王維的詩文中也沒有透露其父的信息，倒是他的母親崔氏時常出現在他的記載當中。
王維年幼喪父，他和幾個弟妹都由其母培養成人。崔氏篤信佛，日常生活儉樸，通達慈善。
而王維的名字也與其母一心奉佛有關。王維出生時，崔氏夜夢菩薩進屋，於是給他取名王維。這名字來源於佛教大乘經典《維摩詰所說經》，雖不確定這傳說是否可信，但可信的是王維家庭奉佛氛圍極其濃厚。據《舊唐書·王維傳》記載：“維弟兄俱奉佛，居常蔬食，不茹葷血；晚年長齋，衣不文采。”這也說明王維一家對禪的篤信。
王維出生在一個厚德載物的朝代，三教合一的交流越發頻繁，他自小深受這種社會風氣的影響，最後他把這種厚德載物的思想滲入他的詩作中，使得其詩風平和敦厚，以物寫心，以心合天，達到“乘物以遊心”的境界。
千百年來，世人都道盛唐李白五言絕句是天仙語，而王維詩則入禪宗。溯世而觀，我們其實從下麵這首《辛夷塢》中能看出他是怎樣以禪入詩的。
木末芙蓉花，山中發紅萼。 澗戶寂無人，紛紛開且落。
這首詩王維寫於安史之亂前，那時適逢好友張九齡罷知政事，而李林甫一派迅速把持朝政，導致朝政越發黑暗。王維雖在朝為官，但眼看著動蕩的朝局，他的內心極其矛盾，甚至產生歸隱山林，終日奉佛的想法。
後來，他在終南山下的輞川莊，過著亦隱亦仕、素衣禮佛的生活。
詩題“辛夷塢”是輞川中的一處地名，因滿布辛夷花而得名。辛夷花花開初春，花色白紫各具，常開枝頭，形似蓮花，因而王維在詩中巧稱其為“芙蓉花”。
那年春天，王維在辛夷塢這個地方，一邊觀賞著嫻靜高雅的辛夷花，一邊迎著春風，詩文脫口而出，訴說的就是這一場寂靜的花事。
當時的他，思致平淡，並無太大的波瀾，那一站，便是從日出到晚風吹拂。他不是不願離開這空穀，而是那辛夷花點綴下的幽靜山澗顯得嫻雅可愛。他本就是一個人獨自賞花，既無人催促便放慢腳步欣賞這場花開花落。
