西漢時文帝幼子叫劉勝，
小時候生得很聰明。
文帝因此最愛他，
打算皇位讓他承。
當時有賈誼文學大名家，
曾遭誹謗排擠離京城，
在長沙王那兒任太傅。
用人才，文帝又把他召進京。
這時候劉勝已封梁懷王，
漢文帝特讓賈誼教劉勝。
賈誼想不僅要教他會讀書，
還要讓他把做人道理學通明。
秦末的趙高也教過秦二世，
隻教他酷法和嚴刑，
學的是如何砍頭割鼻子，
和怎樣夷滅三族索人命。
到後來胡亥即位就亂殺戮，
把人命看得像草葉一樣輕。
賈誼說，
二世殺人如割草，
並非是胡亥天生惡本性，
趙老師未能領他走正道，
秦末才有楚漢爭。
賈太傅一心要教好梁懷王，
哪料想天有不測災禍生，
劉勝騎馬不小心，
馬上摔下喪了命。
賈誼自覺失了老師職，
經常流淚心悲痛。
過了幾年憂鬱死，
後人提起總傷情。
到後來賈誼說的那句話，
演化為成語“草菅人命”，
意思是把人命當作菅草待，
常把統治者殺戮無辜的罪惡來形容。
