晉朝有個人叫嵇紹，
生得儀表堂堂身材高。
晉惠帝名叫司馬衷，
很喜歡嵇紹的美儀表。
更難得嵇紹最忠誠，
這一點惠帝更知曉。
隻因為內部爭權又奪利，
互相攻殺把矛盾鬧，
晉朝的局勢難安定，
惠帝時時心焦躁。
有一次，司馬氏兄弟合兵來攻城，
隨惠帝出兵迎戰的是嵇紹。
由於眾寡懸殊敵勢猛，
惠帝陣中死的死來逃的逃。
隻有嵇紹護惠帝，
出生入死把主保。
敵方飛箭雨點般，
數箭射中勇嵇紹。
嵇紹負傷鮮血灑，
濺了惠帝滿戰袍。
護主傷重身先死，
感動惠帝哭號啕。
戰鬥結束回去後，
惠帝難以忘嵇紹。
有人要洗去戰袍血汙跡，
惠帝不允還勸道：
嵇侍中耿耿忠心難忘懷，
這血染戰袍要永存保。
當時有人誇嵇紹，
讚他是卓卓野鶴天下少。
鶴立雞群雞難比，
勇獻身，當時首先推嵇紹。
到後來，“鶴立雞群”作成語，
形容人，有出眾的學問、品質或儀表。
Like a Crane Standing Among the Chickens
