Glossary: Tun is one of the Hexagrams, taking Zhen as the lower trigram which indicates thunder and exciting power, and Kan as the upper trigram which presents a perilous pit. The character called Tun seems like the grass, and is intended to show us how a plant struggles with difficulty out of the earth. This hexagram, therefore, represents the initial stage of an action, which meets with difficulties in the beginning but will prosper later.
