就近一致
就近一致原則指謂語動詞的單複數形式取決於最靠近的詞語。
（1）由or，either...or...，her...nor...，not only...but also...等連接的並列結構作主語，通常依據就近原則，即人稱和數的形式與最靠近的名詞或代詞保持一致。如： Either war is obsolete or men are.（Buster Fuller）= Either war or men are obsolete.her your wheelchair nor your leg brabsp;are to be taken bebsp;you won’t need any of that in Heaven.God will nd a special angel to show you the way.You’ll be able to run and play just like your brother.（Flying A Kite）As her Dudley nor the hedges were in any way hurt，Aunt Petunia knew he hadn’t really done magic，but he still had to dubsp;as she aimed a heavy blow at his head with the soapy frying pan.（Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets）

1.單複數同形的名詞作主語

以-s結尾的表示國家、組織等名稱的專有名詞作主語，謂語動詞用單數形式。如：the herlands荷蘭，the United States美國，the United Nations聯合國。The United States is a nation of laws： badly written and randomly enforced.（Frank Zappa）
