這兩個詞都是形容詞，又都表示“足夠”、“充足”之意，但詞義和用法有所不同。
（一)一般來說，enough指心理上的滿足（mental satisfa）；suffit則指需要的滿足（satisfa of demands）。例如，某個貪心漢已撈了很多錢（suffit money），足夠他吃喝一輩子，但他依然感到不滿足（not enough）。例：
Remember that sce requires the effort of a lifetime.Even if you had two lives to give,it would still not be enough.
要記住，科學需要人畢生的精力。即使有兩次生命，也仍然不夠。
That sum of money is suffit for our requirement.
那一筆錢已足夠我們的需要。
（二)就文體而言，suffit比enough更為正式（formal）；suffit常用以指程度上的足夠；enough則指數量上的足夠。例：
Our military respon to the aggressive act was limited but suffit to show our determination.
雖然我們對侵略行動的軍事反應有限，但足以表明我們的決心。
There is enough food for five people.
食物足夠五人吃。
（三)enough既可作形容詞，又可作副詞和名詞；suffit隻能作形容詞。例：
Are the shoes large enough?（adv.）
這些鞋是否夠大？
I''ve had enough,thank you.（n.）
我已吃飽了，謝謝。
（四)enough作形容詞時，可以放在它所修飾的詞的前麵或後麵；作副詞時，一般放在它所修飾的形容詞或副詞的後麵。例：
I have enough bread（or bread enough）.（adj.）
我有足夠的麵包。
You are not careful enough.（adv.）
你不夠仔細。
（五)enough之後可以接不定式，但不能接以that引導的從句。例：
I know them well enough to ask them for help.
我和他們很熟，可以請他們幫忙。
