這兩個詞都是分詞形容詞，意義相近，但含義和用法有所不同。
ied的意思是“對……感興趣的”、“開心的”（be keen to know or hear about something; ed）。它大都與介詞搭配使用。如：
I''m immenly ied in this book.
我對這本書非常感興趣。
It is necessary to hold talks at an early date betweeerested govers to ttle differences of opinion.
有關政府必須早日舉行會談，以解決分歧意見。
We will be sulting ten ied bodies.
我們將向10位有關專題谘詢。
iing的意思是“有趣的”、“引起興趣的”、“引起注意的”（arousing i aging the attention），如：iing questions,iing books,iing things,iing people…在句中，iing既可作定語形容詞，也可作表語形容詞。例：
He is a most iing man.
他是一個很有趣的人。
The Wong Tai Sin Temple must be quite an iing place for you.
黃大仙廟一定是你很感興趣的地方。
How they built the Cross Harbour Tunnel in so short a time is iing to us all.
他們如何在如此短的時間內建成海底隧道引起了我們大家的興趣。
從上列例句可見，ied大都和in搭配使用，iing則和to搭配使用。
在個別場合，ied可以和不定式連用。如：I''llbe ied to know what happens.
