Whereso'er you are,my heart shall truly love you.
Love's FAREWELL
Michael Drayton(1563-1631)
你再也得不到,我曾為你所做的一切;
我已完全擺脫了自己;
Since there's no help,come let us kiss and part,——
Nay I have done,you get no more of me;
And I am glad,yea,glad with all my heart,
That thus so cleanly I myself can free;
Shake hands for ever,cancel all our vows,
And when we meet at any time again,
Be it not seen in either of our brows
That we one jot of former love retain.
Now at the last gasp of love's latest breath,
When ,his pulse failing,passion speechless lies,
When faith is kneeling, by his bed of death,
And innocence is closing up his eyes,
——Now if thou would'st,when all have given him over,
From death to life thou might'st him yet recover!
Madrigal
William Shakespeare(1564-1616)
在凝視中滋養;
Tell me where is Fancy bred,
Or in the heart,or in the head?
How begot, how nourished?
Reply, reply.
It is engender' d in the eyes,
With gazing fed;and Fancy dies
in the cradle where it lies:
Let us all ring Fancy's knell;
I'll begin it,——Ding, dong, bell.
——Ding ,dong ,bell.
William Shakespeare(1564-1616)
啊,永遠也甭想得到信任,倘若沒有對美人的誓詞;
即使背誓了我自己,對你我仍會不移忠誠;
假如學問是標誌,我滿意的學問就是能對你了解;
隻有心靈無知的人,在有緣見到你時才會無動於衷;
If love make me forsworn,how shall I swear to love
O never faith could hold,if not to beauty vowed:
Though to myself forsworn,to thee I'll constant prove;
Those thoughts,to me like oaks,to thee like osiers bowed.
Study his bias leaves,and make his books thine eyes
Where all those pleasures that art can comprehend.
If knowledge be the mark, to know thee shall suffice;
Well learned is that tongue that well can thee commend:
All ignorant that soul that sees thee without wonder;
Which is to me some praise ,that thy parts admire:
Thine eye Jove's lightning seems,thy voice his dreadful thunder,
Which ,not to anger bent,is music and sweet fire.
Celestial as thou art,Odo not love that wrong,
To sing heaven's praise with such an earthly tongue.
Love's Experience
William Shakespeare(1564-1616)
我信任她,盡管我知她在撒謊;
When my love swears that she is made of truth,
I do believe her though I know she lies,
That she might think me some untutored youth,
Unlearned in the world's false subtleties.
Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young,
Although she knows my days are past the best,
Simply I credit her false-speaking tongue:
On both sides thus is simple truth suppressed.
But wherefore says she not she is unjust?
And wherefore say not I that I am old?
O love's best habit is in seeming trust,
And age in love loves not to have years told.
Therefore I lie with her,and she with me,
And in our faults by lies we flattered be.
