WHO ARE YOU?

Who are you?
Wearing surgical masks and white clothes
Forgive me but
Your name does not come to my lips
Yet there is one thing

In hopes of your safe return
And they are still waiting

Your last departure from home
Was what it took for them to discover

You are like a rainbow that came
To light up ordinary lives

That caused you to break out sobbing
In an era that looks to cartoons
For heroes worth admiring
It was time to be proud of their parents
Who were you?
Forgive me
Your names do not come to my lips

You were true angels
Just as you were of flesh and blood
You never made grand pronouncements
Only thus could you show such genuine love
It must be because of you
