7、去找接電話的人，讓對方別掛斷電話時的常用表達：
Hold on/the line, please. I’ll get him to the phone.
Just hang on a minute, I’ll see if he is in.
8、問對方是否要留下口信的用語：
Would you like to leave a message?
May I take a message for you?
需要留下口信可以說:
It’s very kind of you. This is…, please tell him to call me at 923 5567.
也可告訴接電話人自己一會再打：
It’s all right, I’ll call her later.
9、打錯電話時：如果發現自己可能撥錯了電話，要確認時應該問你所撥的號碼是否正確，如“Is this 435 2280?”，而不要去追問對方的號碼。如果在接聽時發現對方可能撥錯電話時，可以說：
Sorry, wrong number.
I’m afraid you’ve misdialed.
There is no such person at this number.
I’m sorry, there is no…here. This is 435 2280.
